It is used as a raw material in the production of cement and lightweight concrete, and as a filler in the rubber and paper industries; it also serves as a desiccant and a food flavor enhancer.

Calcium (Ca)

Pattarakarn Corporation Co., Ltd. manufactures and distributes calcium-based chemical products—such as calcium carbonate (CaCO3), calcium oxide (CaO), calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), and calcium chloride (CaCl2)—for use in agriculture and key industries. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and services that meet international standards, ensuring our products effectively satisfy customer needs and achieve optimal performance—a commitment that has earned us widespread recognition today.

Practical applications of calcium (Ca)

     – Calcium Oxide (CaO), hot lime, quicklime, or burnt lime. Chemically known as calcium oxide (with the formula CaO), it is used to rapidly increase pH and alkalinity levels. It also eliminates pathogens—such as bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and the larvae of various disease vectors—and supplements soil and water with magnesium and other minerals. In industrial applications, it is commonly used as a filler in asphalt for road surfacing, in sand mixtures for plastering, and in the paper, dye, rubber, and ceramics industries, as well as in chemical and petrochemical manufacturing.

     – Calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)₂], or hydrated lime, may also be referred to as "cool lime." It is used in seawater desalination, wastewater treatment, and chemical and petrochemical processes, as well as for gas treatment in waste-to-energy plants. It also serves to adjust pH levels and acts as a raw material for producing other chemicals, such as soda ash. Additionally, it aids in precipitation and the removal or reduction of raw water hardness to produce clear water. In construction, it serves as a raw material for manufacturing cement and lightweight concrete blocks, and is used for soil stabilization prior to construction projects.

Practical applications of calcium (Ca)

     – Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) It is widely used in general industry, the food industry, and agriculture. In the agricultural sector, it is commonly employed to preserve and extend the shelf life of produce such as vegetables and fruits. In other industries, it serves as a desiccant or is used to remove water from solvents. In certain food processing applications—such as the production of sausages and cured meats—calcium chloride is used to enhance flavor and extract protein from meat. Additionally, it is utilized in construction as an accelerator to speed up concrete setting times.

     – Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) It is widely used across various industries due to the ease with which it can be finely ground; the resulting fine calcium carbonate powder is chemically stable and non-toxic. Additionally, specific properties—such as brightness and oil absorption—offer advantages for industries such as paper, plastics, rubber, and paints.
